Club Night ´╗┐Rules

All members are encouraged to enter their club night nominations online. Nominations close at 9pm on the Thursday night prior to Club Night.

Nominations will also be accepted from 6:15pm to 6:45pm on club nights. We cannot accept nominations after this time as we must finalise and print the meet program prior to commencement of races at 7pm sharp.

Club Night Events

  • On the first club night of the season, races are held in all 4 strokes across 25m and 50m events. All swimmers new swimmers will race 25m events. Existing swimmers may choose to race 50m events if they have previously qualified, however this is not compulsory.
  • All other club nights of these season will consists of 25m and 50m events in only 3 strokes (Freestyle and 2 Form strokes on rotation). A "Special Events" race will also be held. This event will usually be a 100m event (One of the 4 strokes or a Medley) with the occasional 200m or 400m Freestyle event.

Qualification Times

All swimmers must achieve qualifying times in 25m events before they can progress to 50 and 100m Special Events. There are additional qualification times to progress to the longer distances, these are outlined in Rule 23 of the club rule book.

To progress from 25m to 50m events, swimmers must achieve the following times:

Freestyle25 metres in under 24.0 seconds
Breaststroke25 metres in under 30.0 seconds
Backstroke25 metres in under 29.0 seconds
Butterfly25 metres in under 25.0 seconds
